Free Phone App Color Note

Let's keep today's blog entry short and sweet, and talk about a free phone app this time around.
This app has saved my life on multiple occasions lol But if you haven't already downloaded it,
go to your phone's app store and check out Color Note.

This is a great freebie notepad program that is wonderful for taking random notes on the go.
"To do" lists or grocery lists, it has a built in calendar, and also lets you color coat certain notes
to make referencing and getting to them much easier.
Also it comes with a locking feature if you want to keep certain notes you've taken private,
or keep certain data unreadable, containing user names/passwords ect.
A great app if you are as scatterbrained as I am, or like to multitask. :)
Check it out, and if your already using it, leave a comment about your experiences using it.

Cashing In With Coins & Your Bank On Ebay

This was actually something that i'd stumbled upon almost completely by accident.
But it's made me a little money on eBay. So I thought it would be a great idea to
blog about it.Since it's something easy that you can do too.

Here's the short story of how I started. My Grandfather owns a pawn shop
that deals mostly with jewelry and coins these days. So I've been no stranger to
seeing morgan silver dollars, barber dimes, ect. As well as having a basic idea on
how coins are graded by numismatics or collectors. Very basic... But never been
into collecting coins myself.
One day on my regular morning shift, I was given some loose change from a
customer to pay for their purchase. I noticed that it sounded a little funny when
he dropped it on the counter. The best way I can describe it was hearing a deeper
sounding "pong", rather than a higher pitched "clinky" sound today's coins make.
(great sound effects right??? lol)
I began to look through what he'd given me, and found A 1946 US Quarter...
I looked it up on

CoinTrackers

I found out it was 90% silver. It was a little scratched, but still in good condition
to the right collector. So I swapped it out for one of my own quarters.
I had never sold any coins on eBay before this, just other types of items.
I knew there was obviously a market out there for them, I just didn't know how
active the buyer and bidder market for them would be.
So, since I decided that this was a first time attempt to kinda dip my toe in the water,
and my cost was only .25 cents, I put a starting bid of .01 to attract some attention.
And it got it. Even after the first few hours
I sold the coin for $8, so after paypal and ebay fees I was looking at about
$7 to $6.50 profit. Off of a coin I paid the face value for...

Take a look in your pocket, or wallet.
Go ahead, i'll wait for you...

Do you have a couple of nickels, dimes, quarters, ect?
Why not take a look at the dates and mint marks (S,D,P, or no mark) of a few of them
and then go look up how much they have sold for on eBay.
Not what they are selling for or listed currently.
This is a misconception a lot of people make using ebay to see "what your item is worth".
Just because you see a listing for $1000 buy it now doesn't mean that someone else
didn't list it for $100 and sell it for that.

The stuff that really generates the most attention though are the silver coins obviously.
This is  because you are attracting 2 strong types of buyers. Ones looking to collect
the coins for their values, and others looking to profit off of the silver or smelt them
down for other products.
A great way to turn this into a business if you have time on your hands, which I stopped
doing this as frequently because other life stuff happens lol, but once or twice a week
head to your bank. Take $100 and get it in rolls of dimes, nickels, or quarters. Look
through some of the dates, check out which ones have more value than others.
But always be sure to check your marketplace on ebay to see what others are doing
selling coins of that year, or condition. Then just replace the ones out of the rolls and
take them back to the bank. So your start up cost is a few dollars at most.
You'll usually find a few good ones that you want to put up.
The most I'd found in one trip was 9 decent quarters. All ranging
in fair to very fine condition. 1940s through 60s, but after they all sold, minus fees,
I walked out with around 60 bucks.
For selling pocket change...
And of course spending a little time looking around and researching things.
Not bad.
So try this at home, and make "chump change" turn into dollar bills.

More good stuff to come...

How to Automatically Generate Money with Twitter & Facebook

How many hours a week do you spend on your Facebook sharing
YouTube videos, crazy cat photos, and sending pics to Aunt Martha
of new baby?
Some of you out there, the time frame is very short or limited for
whatever reasons.
For others, you are just as much a twitter or Facebook junkie if there
ever was one. ;)

Well now you can earn a little bit of money on autopilot while doing the
everyday routine of checking out your social sites, and bring some good
and interesting up to date content to your viewers.
It hardly takes anything at all, just set up this quick method.
It's the simplest way you can monetize your Twitter, Facebook,
or Linkedin to start earning cash, even while your asleep.
An hour's worth or so of work and you can be up and running.
It's fast, easy, and holds the potential for growth, as you can repeat this
process as many times as you want.
Here's how...

Unless you already have a Twitter or Facebook account with a hefty following,
you may choose to set up a brand new account to try this as an experiment.
(like I did... )
The only downfall to doing it this way are the gains will take a little while longer
before they start being noticeable to you. This is another reason why making 3
or 4 social accounts and doing this with each of them is a great idea.
Initially your hits will continue to raise as your audience reaches further out.

1. First you have to sign up with one, or all three sites if you want
to make money from them all.

Go To: Twitter
Go To: Facebook
Go To: Linkedin

This will probably take you about 20 minutes or so to set up your accounts
and verify them with your email. Probably another 5 minutes adding a picture
to each of them. This way people don't consider you to just be inactive or
a bot. So it is important. Also, make sure your accounts have a general feel
for what your content is that your going to post. For example people will
generally tend follow someone posting joke feeds named JokesoftheDay
rather than billybob65.
So just get creative with it, do a bit of searching to see whats already out
there to get some ideas. Look up other people's accounts with high in
the thousands range for followers. This is where you want to get to with
your posting.

2. Now, decide on some kind of niche or group of people you are trying
to reach, or target your paid links towards.
Funny pictures, most viewed youtube videos, quotes of the day, business tips, news,
or even adult pictures and videos if you set your social accounts up right.
That can actually be a $$$ maker if you do it correctly.
Though i'd recommend if you plan on using this method for porn that you
keep it to Twitter.
This is for 2 reasons:
     1. Twitter lets you easily set your profile to mature content posts in order to
keep the younger generation of twitter users away from your links.
     2. Twitter is text posting for these paid links.
Text posting also means you'll get a ton of more clicks when people want to
view the link because of an enticing title or description.
Whatever kind of following you choose try to think of digital information
or articles that are going to be eye catching to the people who are following
you.

3. Alright, now that you have your social profiles in place to start
posting, we're on to the next step which is turning your posts into profit.
To do this we need to go set up an account at: adf.ly

The premise of this site is to shrink URL's from something big like:

www.blahlahblahblahblahblah.com

into something more manageable like:

http://adf.ly/MEzsk

Which makes it easier to have a title with description on your posts without
having to worry about how many characters your allowed to use. Of course
it's almost exacty the same thing as using other link shrinkers like Tinyurl.
But Tinyurl doesn't pay for traffic.
And that's just not any fun now is it...
Before i start getting into the "how to auto dump these links from a feed"
portion of things, I'll give you the best advice on how to use adfly and always
get clicks.
This is for those who have never used or seen it work.
Adfly has two types of shrink methods. One adds a video advertisement before
the page URL that was shrunk, or they can also be set as banner bar which
is the less invasive approach but you make slightly less money.
For this kind of method using adfly with RSS feeds always, always, always
use the shorter banner version.
This is because if someone clicks on your link, has to go through a long
advertisement or wait time, or something that looks like spam, there is a good
chance they won't be paying attention to anything else you post ever again.
Which we most definately want to avoid...
Adfly allows up to to 5 clicks from the same unique IP address a day,
so in initially this means each one of your followers can click up to 5 of your
links a day that you'll be paid for.
So even though it might be enticing to go with the longer advertisements to
generate more money faster, the one that is really going to bring cash flow to you,
is the short link. Save the long ads for links to downloads or things people won't
have as much of a problem with it. This is the digital age, people want it now.
I'll show you exactly what I mean...

These are two tester links to www.google.com you can click to check out the
ads adfly uses, and also to see wait time for each type of advertisement.
Also noted, yes I am getting money every time these two links are clicked!

Video Ads - Long
Banner Ads - Short

As you can see, the shorter one is easy to click the top bar in the right corner
skip the ad if they choose to and proceed onto Google without too much clutter.
But this gives you an exact idea of what your readers will have to go through.
So you have to think like they do.
"Less is more..." to the general population, and less "in your face" ads will certainly
mean  more for you in gaining the trust of your followers, as well as profit.
Trust the Net Nerd on this one...
